Complex Statistics
Don’t let your statistical analysis get out of control
Some situations may require more complex statistical analyses such as complex analyses of variance, multivariate analysis, regression analysis and factor analysis. You need to understand what these sorts of analysis are for and you need to understand what sort of thing the results show.
A big problem with complex statistical analysis is that it all looks very impressive, but often the outcome is too complicated to apply meaningfully. Generally it may be better to avoid this sort of thing unless you’re going to commit yourself to a substantial research effort. You may have the luxury of getting an expert statistician to do the work for you, but you still need to have an understanding of what they are doing.
If you are undertake a complex statistical analysis, be prepared for a lot of work.
